Scicon Bags is pleased to continue its partnership with the inspirational cycling travel brand, The Col Collective, captained by endurance cyclist Mike Cotty. SCICON will continue to support Mike and his bike on their travels around the world, as well as The Col Collective travel clients who join him in search of their next challenge.
Who is The Col Collective?
Founded and run by Mike himself, The Col Collective combines an online resource to inspire cyclists with a passion for adventure and the mountains to summit some of the greatest climbs on the planet, together with a cycling tour operator based in the Hautes Pyrénées – at the heart of some of Europe’s most mythical ascents.
Those traveling to ride with Mike are privy to first hand education and advice on riding the toughest of ascents, while experiencing a sense of escapism that only the mountains can provide. All the while, guests are supported by Scicon Bags, receiving their own personalized Scicon Race Rain Bag as a part of the experience.

The Man Behind The Brand

There are few riders on the road today with as extensive riding experience in the mountains than Mike Cotty, even pushing the know-how of some of the most experienced pros. A former racer himself, Mike spent time working with Cannondale Bicycles before branding out into his own endeavours, from where The Col Collective was born.

From his own experiences, Mike has created an expansive online video collection of climbs from across the world, providing insight, expert advice and education to help cyclists reach the top of the mountains that lie ahead of them. This is the basis of The Col Collective, and through which Mike’s passion for pushing his limits on the bike shines through.
“The best thing about travelling with Scicon is peace of mind,” Mike explained. “I’m in and out of airports every month and just being able to pack my bike and forget about it, knowing it’ll be well protected, means I can focus on other things.”
