Scicon Official Bike Bag of Bestmed Tour of Good Hope Presented by Rudy Project
How does a two-wheeled adventure in the heart of South Africa sound? The Bestmed Tour of Good Hope is just that with a distance of 515km over five stages with a cumulative ascent of 6168 meters.
Kicking-off the week before the Cape Town Cycle Tour from the 29th February to the 4th March 2016 at the beautiful La Paris Estate in Paarl. The Tour winds its way between Paarl and Franschhoek and encompasses some of the most famous passes and cycle routes in Western Cape.
Stage 1 (yellow): The Famous 4 Passes (125km, 1840m ascent) Route. Start and finish at La Paris Estate in Paarl. The stage heads out over Helshoogte to Somerset West before riders will climb the famous Sir Louwry’s Pass turn left into Grabouw and then return to Paarl via Viljoen’s Pass and the Franschhoek Pass.
Stage 2 (pink): Start and finish at La Paris Estate in Paarl. 40km individual TT; triangular circuit to Franschhoek and back (40km, 250m ascent)
Stage 3 (orange): Start at La Paris Estate, finish top of Du Toit’s Kloof Pass (from the top of Du Toit’s Kloof it’s a downhill neutral run-in all the way back to the Race Village at La Paris). Franschhoek (including Franschhoek pass), Villiersdorp, du Toitskloof Pass, Paarl (144km, 1650m ascent)
Stage 4 (blue): Start and finish at La Paris Estate. Du Toitskloof pass (from Paarl side), Slanghoek and back via Bainskloof Pass (127km, 1450m ascent)
Stage 5 (orange- longer section): Start at La Paris Estate. Finish: Taal Monument. Paarl, Malmesbury, Paardeberg, Suid-agter Paarl, Paarl (79km, 978m ascent)
The 2016 Tour will be based at the spectacular La Paris Estate midway between Paarl and Franschhoek on the R301. La Paris host registration and the launch function on 28 February as well as daily lunches for riders, which is included in the entry package. Riders will receive lunch after every stage with the exception of the final stage which finishes at the Taal Monument.

Complementary Scicon Bike Setup Area
Scicon provides all ASG Events participants with complementary bicycle assembly assistance (if required), no matter how you transport your bicycle to the event. Dedicated Scicon staff will provide you with mechanical support to get your bike assembled. Bicycle stands will be available for your own bike maintenance needs on site.
