Scicon visit the MTN-Qhubeka p/b Samsung Service Course
Team MTN-Qhubeka p/b Samsung is making history this year as the first African team to be invited to the Tour De France after a hugely successful opening 2 years that included the Milan-San Remo victory in 2013 and a debut grand tour appearance at the 2014 La Vuelta a Espana. MTN-Qhubeka p/b Samsung are ready to cement its place as one of the top teams in world cycling in 2015 and Scicon are proud to be part of their journey.
Scicon are a valuable sponsor to MTN-Qhubeka. Team Principle Douglas Ryder explains to us that travel logistics play a huge role in his team as they are flying a lot further than other teams as many of their riders live in Africa:
60% of our riders live outside of Europe where the majority of races are held meaning we have to fly to races that other teams don’t have to.
Douglas goes on to state:
This is why having a good bike bag is so important. The AeroComfort is the best in the business and we want to get our riders out to races further afield in the best shape.
This year MTN-Qhubeka have been invited to participate in many races all around the world including the Amgen Tour of California meaning a lot more packing safe and riding fast!
We paid the team a quick visit last week for a video shoot as part of our brand new upcoming World Bike Packing Championships; a bike packing tournament that 7 of our sponsored teams have participated in. More details on this to come soon!
We got an exclusive tour of the team’s service course and bumped into a couple of riders including Merhawi Kudus and Adrien Niyonshuti. Here’s a few photos from our trip. Click the gallery button on the top right-hand side of the article for more.
NB. The Team Edition AeroComfort 2.0 TSA and Rainbag will be available soon to buy. The normal (non-team edition AeroComfort 2.0 TSA is available here.)
