The Scicon Race Rain Bag Makes a Splash

The wait is finally over, the Scicon Race Rain Bag has landed

We’ve been working closely with our sponsored cycling teams over the past two years, collaborating together to develop and tailor the bag to the specific needs of the professional cyclist- it’s been refined and perfected to the high standards of the professional peloton. We hope you like what we’ve done.

The new Race Rain Bag has a total of four new compartments- we have kept the pocket for shoes and added a mesh pocket within this part for socks and shoe covers, added a pocket on the opposite side for dirty clothing, and inserted 4 lateral pockets including one for the jersey and shorts, one for arm and leg warmers, one for gloves and one for the jacket and vest. Orica-GreenEDGE cyclist Christopher Juul-Jensen says:

Through communication with riders and Scicon we’ve developed a Race Rain Bag that’s slightly easier for mechanics to figure out where all our items are.

Only the toughest materials have been used as the bag needs to be hard-wearing given how much time it spends getting flung about and grabbed in the back of the team car. At professional level a bag for each rider sits in every team car behind the race or long day of training camp. At just an arm’s reach from the team mechanic, the bag waits on-call for when the weather turns sour. Tony Martin from Etixx – Quick-Step explains:

For all kinds of weather you have your kit ready. Even if you crash or break your shoe, you know you have everything  you need in your Race Rain Bag and the mechanic can find it quickly for you.
