#GoingPlaces – Laurel Wassner island hops to Kona
In the second of our recent updates from professional triathlete and Scicon Bags ambassador, Laurel Wassner, she takes us along to this year’s Ironman World Championships in Kona. Eventually racing to 24th on the day, Laurel, already a winner having overcome cancer to make the start line, is an inspiration to us all.
Again packing up her Argon 18 race bike into her Scicon Aerocomfort Triathlon Bike Travel Bag, Laurel swapped her New York home for Hawaii for her second World Championships. Putting herself against some of the best endurance athletes in the world, Laurel took us through her journey, both in and around the race.
Racing the World Championships was thrilling, intense and very difficult. I made sure that I had some time to decompress after the race and check out the local food and flavor of Hawaii. I loved riding my bike to the quiet beaches outside of town and to the farmer’s market and seeing the different tropical fruits they have in Hawaii that I have never seen in New York.
Laurel always uses her Scicon Aerocomfort Triathlon Bike Travel Bag when travelling with her bike for training or racing.SHOP NOW
