#GoingPlaces – XPDTN3 in WestFjörds
XPDTN3 is a new collective of photographers, ex-pro cyclists, adventure-seekers and people who work in the bike industry who love expeditions, but, like most people, don’t have time for 5 weeks in Mongolia or 3 months in Peru. Over the coming months, they will be embarking on 3-day bike ‘off the beaten track’ trips around the world.
Marc Gasch, Magnus Backstedt and Marcel Batlle packed their 3T Exploro bikes up into their Scicon AeroComfort 2.0 TSA bike bags and flew to Keflavik, landing at 4am in the blazing sunshine (they have white nights in Summer months). Unfortunately one of their bike bags didn’t turn up until the second day of riding, but when it did, after a magical mystery tour, the bike inside was completely unscathed meaning Magnus could enjoy the second and third day of riding round waterfalls and up mountain passes.
You can prepare as much as you want but things still sometimes go wrong. When my bike didn’t turn up it was beyond my control but I knew that when it did turn up, it would be in one piece because it was packed up into a Scicon Bag.
The XPDTN3 Team explorers use custom Aerocomfort 2.0 TSA bike bags with thru-axle mounts.
