#GoingPlaces – Marion Villette heads to the Alps
Scicon Bags ambassador Marion Villette’s travels continued recently with a trip to the mythical Alps where she took on some of the range’s toughest ascents, just weeks ahead of the Tour de France’s arrival on the testing uphill slopes.
Safely arrived at Alpe d’Huez, bike still in my Scicon bike travel bag, ready for a few days in the mountains!
Staying atop the infamous Alpe d’Heuz, Marion’s first ascent was to tackle the 21 hairpins by car before unpacking her Cannondale from her Scicon AeroComfort ROAD 3.0 TSA bike travel bag and getting ready for her first assault on the climbs.
Conquering the Col du Télégraphe, and feeling great in these Alpine landscapes.
Ticking off some of the toughest climbs to take on by bike, Marion tackled the Col du Télégraphe, the Col du Galibier and of course the climb back up the switchbacks of Alpe d’Huez to get back to her accommodation. No stranger to the mountains, having tackled Mont Ventoux already this year, Marion’s always up for a challenge on the bike having recently taken on the bike leg of the Cannes Triathlon.
Marion’s ride route when climbing Alpe d’Huez – the route showing each and every hairpin tackled.
We spent a few days in the Alps and enjoyed the amazing landscapes on our bikes. The weather was not always great but the mountains were stunning even in the fog or in the clouds!
Keep up to date with all of Marion’s adventures by following her on Instagram – and keep an eye out for her travels with Scicon Bags.
