60-Second Interview with triathlete Caroline Steffen

Caroline Steffen is one of the biggest names in Long Distance Triathlon having won the ITU Long Course Triathlon twice, IRONMAN Asia-Pacific Campionship twice, Ironman European Championship twice, Challenge Roth and has come 2nd twice at the IRONMAN World Championship in Hawaii. Caroline is nicknamed ‘Xena the Warrior Princess’ because of her war-like approach to competing on a triathlon course but also known for being one of the friendliest and most approachable triathletes on the circuit.

The Swiss athlete has been travelling with Scicon bike bags and cases for over 2 years as an official ambassador. She takes 60 seconds out of her busy training and racing schedule to answer a few quick-fire questions.

Biggest fear? To disappoint someone

Greatest obstacle? Sometimes myself

Superstitions? Not one

Biggest achievement? Being a role model for young athletes

Favourite cycling destination? The Swiss Alps

Favourite song to work out to? Moby with “Honey”

Spirit animal? Turtle

Good luck charm? Little sheep on my bike seat

One thing nobody knows? I love Swiss Chocolate

Never have I ever… left my house without shoes on which I realised later in the shops

Best thing about having a Scicon bike bag? Easy to get into conversations at airport with random people who are wondering “what’s in this bag?”

Caroline Steffen travels with the AeroComfort Triathlon bike bag, AeroTech Evolution TSA bike box and Double Wheel Bag.
