60-Second Interview with Triathlete Daniel Fontana

Two-time olympic triathlete and Ironman Champion Daniel Fontana is constantly travelling around the world from race to training camp with his AeroTech Evolution TSA bike box. He’s officially the only Italian to ever win an Ironman title which he did last year at Los Cabos with an extremely quick time of 8h26min.

This year his sights are firmly set on Kona, the Holy Grain of Ironman Triathlon. He came 12th back in 2011 which remains the highest position ever earned by an Italian at this prestigious event. He wants to improve on that this year. He took 60 seconds out of his busy training and race schedule to talk to us- one of his official sponsors.

Biggest Fear? My biggest fear is to finish my career without reaching my sportign dreams and realizing my full potential.

Great obstacle? Training hard enough without crossing the overtraining line.

Superstitions? No, every race is different, so the approach changes each time.

Biggest achievement? To have taken part in two Olympic Games.

Favourite Cycling Destination? The Dolomites, northwest of Italy, amazing area!

Favourite song to work out to? Titanium, David Guetta.

Spirit animal? Wolf.

Good Luck Charm? Nothing, I don’t like to depend on material things.

One thing nobody knows? I have an imaginary dog called Terry!

Never have I ever… run a marathon outside of Ironman triathlon.

Best thing about having a Scicon bike box? It’s light, resistant, confortable and stylish
