60-Second Interview with MTB, Road & Cyclocross rider Ana Rita Vigário
Ana Rita is the daughter of an ex-professional cyclist (António Castro) and got into cycling at an early age. She began by competing in mountain biking in her team Santa Cruz/Bicicastro in 1998.
Her passion for cycling lead her to try other disciplines namely road and cyclocross. She possess a curriculum with two national titles and over 30 medals conquered in national championships in different cycling specialities. Ana also has much international experience having participated in Tour Cycliste Féminin (Tour de France for women), both road and mountain bike World Cups and a long list of others.
Ana is still competing alongside being the manager of a bike shop and some coaching. He managed to take 60 seconds out of her busy schedule to speak to us.
Biggest fear? To damage or lose my bike
Greatest obstacle? Rockgardens
Superstitions? No, I haven’t got any!
Biggest achievement? XCO National Champion
Favourite cycling destination? Azores
Favourite song to work out to? ‘With or without You’ by U2
Spirit animal? Dog
Good luck charm? Don´t have one
One thing nobody knows? I love chocolate
Never have I ever… cheated in races
